Repainting is one of the least expensive ways to update and renovate any space in the interior or exterior of a home. There is power in painting; power to alter a person’s perception of an environment for the better. We’ve touted this concept before, but now it’s time to prove it. In order to show you what we mean, we’ve compiled 10 examples of amazing painting transformations from blogs and galleries across the web. Enjoy!
1. Brightened Kitchen
Tired of an outdated kitchen and on a limited budget? Repainting the cabinets and walls can instantly change the look and vibe. This two-toned combination was successful in grounding the kitchen with some color, while still creating a light and bright feel. This transformation is featured on the blog, A Beautiful Mess. 2. Trim Transformation
Beams can be a great feature, but sometimes can feel heavy in a room, especially when combined with dark wood trim. To combat this dark, heavy and outdated look, have them painted white or light gray. The gray that is shown here provides just enough contrast to keep it interesting. These images are taken from a before and after gallery on Country Living.
3. Fun Craftsman Renovation
This charming Craftsman is over a hundred years old. Despite its age the new paint job and smart color choices make this house look brand new. Whereas the original entryway looked dark and foreboding, the pop of yellow with the front door draws one in with open arms. See the complete inside-out renovation at Hooked on Houses.
4. Unexpected Interior Door
Few people put much thought into the interior side of the front door, but repainting it is a great way to create some unexpected visual interest. Painting a white door black, as shown here, was a really strong choice that added contrast to the surrounding walls and trim. This example was pulled from Listotic.
5. Teen Corner: From Bland to Bold
This bright and fun paint job took a very bland, outdated room and turned it into a vibrant teen space. Clean stripes can be challenging for the average homeowner to paint, but we specialize in this kind of project. If you’re looking for something unique, let us know! This before and after was pulled from Houzz.
6. Lightened Living Room
The burnt orange wall color in this before picture was a bold choice, but makes the room feel somewhat dark and closed in. The fresh paint job in the after picture went a long way to brighten the room. Notice how the French doors were painted a contrasting charcoal which works really well against the light gray. This example was pulled from the Dear Lillie Blog.
7. Contemporary Exterior
The original beige look of this home’s exterior did not stand out in a good way. In fact, it didn’t stand out in any way. Repainting it a strong, dark color, and contrasting that with white trim and a white garage, gave this home a much needed “wow” factor. View more of this amazing transformation at Designing Dawn.
8. Upgraded Dining Room
This dining room was in desperate need of design style. Painting the walls a beautiful blue and adding the white millwork upgraded this space from average to classy and contemporary. This example was from My Pretty Pennies.
9. Plain Patio to Party Deck
Have you been wanting your deck or patio to be a cool gathering space but you’re not sure where to begin? Have it repainted to make it look clean and new. Then add some comfy furniture and string lights to complete the look. These images were found on the Home Depot Blog.
10. Brick Ranch Remodel
If you’re longing for a fresh take on brick, don’t worry, it’s okay to paint it. Thanks to popular home remodeling TV shows, it’s becoming more common to repaint brick white, cream or gray. Read more about this ranch house renovation at The Painted House.
